Book, Meet Video Game: a Unique Innovation
EA Games, one of the leading sports video game developing companies has teamed up with the dynastic “For Dummies” book series publishers to come up with a novel approach to learning online poker.
Poker for Dummies is a collaboration effort from the two major players in attempt to fuse the knowledge one can gain from reading and the real time experience one gains when actually interacting with a game to provide the product which may be turn out to be one of the most effective ways of passing on knowledge about arcane and complex concepts.
The product allows the player to jump right in with built in tutorials at a practice table that takes you from total novice, to someone at the very least well versed.
The lessons are based to be progressive as your skill develop. On top of the interactive table tutorials there are also quizzes and poker online etiquette tips that help players retain knowledge and become more fully acquainted with the social atmosphere of the game.
The game is rated “T” for Teen under the American ESRB rating system and will cost 20 dollars. It is designed for the PC, so sorry Mac Users, looks like it’s back to Bootcamp or Parallels Desktop if you want to check out this software.
As an added bonus, Omaha and 7-stud are also included in the tutorials. This may be worth checking out if you’re looking to up your game at your own pace and in the comfort of our own home.
