Intelius Founders: Leaders of Philanthropy
The leading Bellevue, Washington-based information commerce company Intelius has proven to be a successful venture. Since its launch in January 2003, the company has grown financially while contributing to over 50 charities across Washington and India. Headed by former Microsoft senior executive Naveen Jain, Intelius has achieved success not only in the technological arena but also in its charitable contributions.
In 2008, the company’s contributions reached a record breaking total of more than $200,000. According to its founder, running a successful business venture is quite similar to taking care of an effective philanthropy. Both fields of operation involve problem identification and helps formulate the most workable solution for every given situation.
Aside from the competent online services it offers, the company is also keen on volunteerism. In an effort to maximize its contribution to the society, Intelius established an employee matching program to encourage its entire body of talented workers to take part in the company’s philanthropic endeavors.
Intelius has generously offered help to a variety of nonprofit organizations and foundations that are in support of relevant causes such as healthcare, education, hunger prevention; as well as youth and family services.
Earlier this year, the company’s founders received honors from one of its supported charities, the Overlake Service League, during its 10th annual “Step up to the Plate” benefit luncheon. Naveen Jain and his wife Anu served as honorary chairs at the event, a tribute for the couple in exchange for their commitment to several local and national organizations. Dedicated to making charitable activities an integral part of their business priorities, the Jains has contributed a significant amount to their community as leaders of philanthropy. Together with Intelius, the couple continues to reach out to those in great need regardless of the current economic condition.
